In one way this song is about all the times in our lives when we come to the end of one period or season and have to begin again. And it talks about how its sometimes difficult to let go and move on. But in another way it's talking about the general theme of the album: the Winter of life. If Spring is symbolic of birth and childhood, Summer young adulthood and Fall middle age, then I am in the Winter portion of my life. The transition when we're old is the ultimate new beginning and something we're never quite prepared for.

Lyrics

Can’t Let Go

Time to make some changes
Time for breaking through
But habits don’t die easy
I need to trade the past for something new

But even though
I need to grow
I can’t let go just yet
Can’t let go

Summer days are coming
Soon the sun will shine
Winter will be going
Still it’s hard to leave these winter days behind

And even though
The change is slow
I can’t let go just yet
Can’t let go

The road I’ve been on is coming to an end
Now it’s time to start all over again

Time to make some changes
Time for breaking through
But habits don’t die easy
I need to trade the past for something new
