As we get older we begin to think of having a legacy, something to leave behind after we're gone. My cousin, Becki, tells a story about seeing me play guitar when she was very young, touching the strings of my guitar and how that was an inspiration for her. She eventually learned the guitar herself, wrote many songs, played in bands and, in a way, carried on a tradition. It is my belief that everyone should have at least one song written about them and this is my song for her.
Lyrics
Becki Plays Guitar
Becki plays guitar
Listen to the strings
There’s magic as they ring
Underneath the stars
She plays her newest song
Asks you to tag along
With this journey that she’s on
Bound somewhere you’ve never gone
Becki plays guitar
It’s the sweetest sound you’ve heard
As she paints pictures with her words
You forget just where you are
Stars shimmer in the night
Red wine and soft moonlight
Eyes closed as she sings
Fingers dance across the strings
Becki plays guitar
She started long ago
But still she doesn’t know
How she got this far
Once when she was young
She made a guitar strum
She touched it with her hand
And a love affair began
Becki plays guitar
